SUSTAINABLE INDEX
Sustainability and green strategies can be an intangible size and difficult to make tangible. Therefore, it is often a great help forcompanies to have a person like Michelle Gordon to step in, when thoughts must be translated into action. A fast-growing electronic company recently benefitted from this when they had to turn a wish about more circular economy into reality.
Together with their chief designer we made an index, where we rated their products based on different sustainability parameters. In this way, they were not only made more aware of where the problems occurred in terms of their products - it also gave them a tool to be able to prioritise the most sustainable processes in their production, which they have benefitted greatly from, says Michelle Gordon.
DEDICATED PROBLEM SOLVER
The 28-year-old Canadian with an eye for sustainability is a highly appreciated employee, says Sven Beyersdorff, who is a partner in Nordic Sustainability.
Michelle is a real problem crusher with a strong background within sustainability. She is passionate about wanting to make a differenceandfindingsolutionstocomplexchallenges. Herinputs have been a great asset to us in the work of getting sustainability into the core of our clients’ companies, he says.
Michelle Gordon has previously worked at the Danish think tank Sustania, The Interdisciplinary Center on Climate Change in Canada, and has recently achieved a Master’s degree in Sustainable Design from Aalborg University. It has given her a strong analytical and practical approach to sustainable development and innovation. Without the tools I have from my education, I would never have been able to participate in the development process in the same way or had the same understanding to match sustainable models with company needs.
