Rammeværktøj (toolbox) is based on developing a toolbox that can be utilized for clearly defining coastal-related societies, as there is a political interest in strengthening smaller coastal societies in the public debate. Being able to foster relations to this on a closer level gives opportunities to evaluate consequences for political actions already during the formulation phase. Rammeværktøjet develops a specialized toolset with indicators and data to better utilize the regional consequence evaluation regarding political decision making in fisheries related costal societies.

OBAMA-Next’s purpose is to develop accurate and precise toolbox for characterizing marine ecosystems and biodiversity in the four European regional seas. It utilizes new technologies like remote sensing, eDNA, optical instruments and citizen science, aiming to improve our capacity for making accurate ecosystem descriptions. Involving stakeholders in the process will help identify products needed in ecosystem monitoring, and thus help develop accurate approaches. OBAMA will strengthen Europe’s capability in utilizing accurate biological ocean observations for better management of marine resources.

SEAwise’s objective is to provide guidelines for an operational approach in European Ecosystem Based Fisheries Management (EBFM). This is to counter four main challenges in EBFM: identifying key ecosystem priorities, addressing gaps of knowledge, lack of specific and descriptive models and lack of advice developed together with management representatives. SEAwise incorporates a wide variety of scientist, stakeholders and decision makers to determine end-users needs for better handling EBFM and provide clear solutions.

RESOCO builds up-to-date Nordic knowledge and best practices on reconciling seal-fisheries in the Baltic Sea. Using a transdisciplinary approach including technological, natural and social sciences, economics and environmental sciences, it creates pragmatic and regionally applicable solutions to form solutions on seal-fisheries conflicts.

Tiny population. Huge territory. Extreme conditions. It is far from obvious where to find inspiration when Greenland aims for independence. Hence, a wide variety of im- and explicit comparisons in political debate, public policy, and scholarly analysis shape how Greenland imagines independence. This project shows how application, rejection and forgetting of categories for comparison closes off some futures, making others self-evident.
