Project
LIFE22-CET SET_HEAT
The LIFE22-CET SET_HEAT project aims to accelerate the energy transition and decarbonization of district heating in four targeted Eastern European countries. The primary goal is to further the integration of renewable energy and waste heat streams into district heating systems.
The project is conducted in a team of 12 partner institutions from Poland, Croatia, Romania, Denmark, and Lithuania. From Denmark, two partner institutions are represented – Aalborg University Department of Sustainability and Planning and the Danish Board of District Heating.
In the project, AAU PLAN has the primary responsibility to link to Danish experience in the field and oversee techno-economic analyses of district heating systems.
SET_HEAT draws on an active involvement of district heating companies and key stakeholders in collaborative planning that will result in tangible, replicable model investment projects. These efforts involve technical and non-technical solutions, pre-feasibility studies, and strategic development plans for district heating companies.
The ultimate objective of LIFE22-CET-SET_HEAT is to develop strategic investment programmes for district heating companies in Croatia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania.
